Tim Tucker
Tim Tucker
Tim Tucker was the hardest man to play handball. He was ferocious, uncompromising and tough. He was an orphanage boy in the depression times and found handball the perfect game for his muscularity. His talent and his aggression. He changed handball strategy. In an era when men stood on the backline and challenged each other with power, he stepped up. He hit the ball on the full. He had tremendous power and he found the bottom brick and handball opponents had to change. Tim had all the skills of an Australian champion. With the war years robbing him of chances for titles he still won plenty. He played big matches and defeated some great opponents. He was single minded and ruthless. He didn't want to be soft and had no time for any of that. He wanted to beat you. He wanted to win. Champions always do.
