Serg came through the Rostrevor College Junior program in the 1982/83 season winning the Best Team Player award and was a member of the State Junior Team that same year. Serg was a junior when playing in his first Snr. Pennant competition in 1982 for South Adelaide Handball Club and the very next year Serg joined the Rostrevor Handball Club. As Serg progressed to the A grade ranks he represented at Rostrevor Cup level on 5 occasions and captained the team 3 times.

Serg has been awarded the Presidents Trophy (T Carter Memorial Award) being for the Best Club Person in the South Australian Handball Association on six occasions. It was in the year, 2000 Serg made his first SAHA State Team and has virtually been an automatic selection for the past eighteen years. During that time one of his proudest moments was being a member of the history making S.A. State Team that won three O’Connor in succession. He captained the State in 2007.

Another highlight of his great career was his selections in the Australian Team in 2006, 2010 (Capt) 2011 (Capt),2017,2019.

Serg has been a great addition to the game of Handball on top of all his playing credentials he has been the State Treasurer for the past 16 consecutive years which is SAHA history as no other

Administrator has such a consecutive period in Office.

When called upon Serg has always been there to help, he has greatly contributed time effort and products/apparel through his business connections.
