John is admired because he loved the game. He contributed at committee level and held significant leadership in some difficult times. His longevity and fearlessness and his competitiveness matched his skill. He was an excellent player for South Australia and achieved at an outstanding level.

But significantly, he looks at the game with sense of gratitude. There is a humble pride in what he has done but also a respect and appreciation that he could play such great opponents and be a player amongst them. He has hit the ball superbly. He has frustrated oppositions. He has bravely faced opponents. He has achieved great success. He has done it over so many years. And as he told me "I wouldn't trade any of it. I loved it. John Cook was inducted into the AHC Hall of Fame in 2005 and was most certainly a worthy inductee. Thank you and congratulations on your Wallball career John.
