Jack Foley

The influence and impact Jack left on the game is best illustrated through the introduction of the J.M Foley Cup, which is a trophy presented to the premier Junior State Team. It was first played in 1973. Mr Jack Foley, the donor, has had an enormous influence over the game at State and National level. As a player he has represented South Australia in many carnivals and has won numerous State Titles, both before and after the War. Jack was chosen a number of times in Australian teams and was captain of the Australian team on two occasions. He has been an Executive Director of the AHC and a great friend to many in all Handball states. Jack's participation in Handball both as a player and an administrator has spanned

seven decades.
