Through his very good friends Mick Kiley and Chris McLennan Handball tours from SA to the NT were established on an annual basis where the SA visitors travelled to Darwin for a week to play in the NT 1-Wall Handball Championships.
Further, a NT State Team played in the 1988 Australian Championships with representatives in the Open Singles and Doubles Championships and a team in the Rostrevor Cup competition. Subsequently the Inaugural Australian 1-Wall Handball Championships were played in Darwin in 1989.

Returning to Adelaide in 1990 Bob joined the West Adelaide Handball Club. No longer in the picture for SA State Team representation, Bob played in and won a number of Australian Masters titles in both 1, 3 and 4-Wall Championships.
